A Peaceful Goodbye at Home

Saying goodbye to your beloved pet is one of life's most profound moments.

In the comfort of your home, where your pet feels safest, we can create a gentle transition that both preserves their dignity and honours the bond that you share.

There is space here for whatever feels right for your family, whether that is storytelling, silence, music, or your own meaningful rituals. My role is simply to hold a calm and supportive presence while you say goodbye in your own way.

This final act of love, as difficult as it is, can also be beautiful - a reflection of the care you've shown throughout your pet's life.

  1. Arriving with Care

When I arrive at your home, there is no rush. I move at your pace and follow your pet's lead, allowing everyone to feel comfortable before we begin. This time is yours to gather loved ones, to create the space that feels right, or to simply be present together. Throughout this process, all emotions are welcome… tears, stories, silence, or whatever arises naturally for you is honoured in this space.

  2. A Gentle Transition

Your pet will first receive a calming sedating and pain-relieving medication that allows them to relax completely, free from any anxiety or discomfort. They'll drift peacefully to sleep surrounded by your love and the familiar comforts of home. Once they're sleeping deeply, I'll place an intravenous catheter to allow for delivery of the final medication. Every movement is gentle, every step taken with reverence for this sacred moment.

  3. Final Moments of Peace

When you feel ready, the final medication will be administered. This brings a peaceful release, typically within a minute. Your pet will feel no pain or distress, only the comfort of your presence as they transition.

  4. After the Farewell

After your pet has passed, I'll quietly step away to give you private time together. When you're ready, I'll return to prepare a small hair clipping in a glass vial as a keepsake of your beloved companion. If you've chosen cremation, I'll handle all arrangements with care and respect, ensuring your pet's journey continues with dignity.

What to Expect on The Day

Aftercare

A range of aftercare options are available, including home burial or cremation.

I can guide you through these choices and help arrange whatever feels most aligned for your family.
